Puppy

We took the dog to Pets Mart today. She got to sniff around, and she met a chiuahua and was very frightened of it. There was some obnoxious guy there with border collies in weird shoes who had been on the David Letterman show. We signed her up for lessons with him, on how to sit and not bite us while playing. He was very interested in her, and wanted to tell us about how special the breed is (she is a border collie also), but he really wanted to talk more than he wanted to listen. I hate when people do that. But, it's not important if we like him or not, what's important is that he gives us our moneys worth. She is a funny dog. She pounces on things like a cat, and refuses to chew on a toy that serves just as a chew toy. She likes toys that do things. She is amazingly bright. And very laid back. But when she starts chewing on your hand she just won't stop, she can be extremely tenacious when she wants to be. What we've found that works is to grab her by the nape of her neck and just hold her there, because that takes all the fun out of biting us. This new dog should be an interesting experience... that's for certain.
